Getty Images has launched its own text-to-image generative AI tool called "Generative AI by Getty Images." Unlike other commercial tools, Getty's AI model has been trained exclusively on Getty's own stock photo platform to ensure that the generated images do not violate any copyright laws. Users can pay a fee to license the AI-generated images, but they cannot license them to third parties or receive royalty payments. Getty stated that contributors will be compensated for licensing and sharing in the revenues generated from the tool.
